Devanagari text with English rendering. Includes index to first words plus a separate index of all the words of the Sanskrit text. Especially useful for students and scholars.
Great companion
Very useful to get deeper understanding of Bhagavad Gita. I was particularly interested in master Shankara's commentary on many key shlokas. It definitely requires familiarity with Vedanta concepts; important variations in the reading are pointed out in the footnotes. There are 2 indexes which are very helpful- one is index to the first words of the shlokas (e.g. yada yada hi dharmasya...) and other is index to keywords (e.g. Sthitahpragnah).
Bhagavad Gita: With the commentary of Sankaracarya
This has been a standard reference book for me for its faithful English translation. The Word index is extremely useful, as it gives cross-references to every single unique word (nearly 4,000+) in the Gita text (not the Bhashya translation). The Verse Index is of course a worthy companion.
Bhagavad Gita: With the commentary of Sankaracarya
I have been reading this book (Bhagavad Gita: With the commentary of Sankaracarya) since June and I am very happy with it. This is the best translation and commentary for the serious student of the Gita. I own four other translations with commentaries, but this one is the best by far. It complements my advanced Jyotish studies and more. I enjoy reading it every day.
Bhagavad Gita: With the commentary of Sankaracarya
I am thrilled to have finally been able to obtain a copy of the Bhagavad Gita with the commentary of Shankaracarya. This was not an easy edition to find and the Vedanta Press website was the only seller I found with a copy- I couldn't be more satisified. The text is complete and gives what many argue to be the most important and influential commentary on the teachings found in the Bhagavad Gita. Even for those who have read and are familiar with the message of the Bhagavad Gita, Shankara's commentary represents one of the finest contributions to the study and understanding of this revered text.
