Swami Vivekananda and Human Excellence

At the invitation of Harvard University and the MIT Vedanta Societies, Swami Ranganathananda delivered this lecture in May, 1985 in Emerson Hall. His understanding of Swami Vivekananda as "a remarkable example of an all-round human excellence" is paralleled in Romain Rolland's The Life of Vivekananda: "He was the personification of all human Energy."

Swami Ranganathananda was the 13th President of The Ramakrishna Math and Mission. He is the author of Message of the Brhadaranyaka Upanishad and The Message of Vivekachudamani among many other books. He is also the subject of the books: The Monk Without Frontiers: Reminiscences of Swami Ranganathananda and My Life Is My Work.
