Sarah Fox and the women disciples of Swami Vivekananda played a large role in Swami Vivekananda's success in America. In this book, we learn many stories about Sarah Fox's time in America and India, and her association with the disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. Sarah would go on to help later disciples, including Swami Ashokananda, head of the Vedanta Society of Northern California.

Ultimately, the book is about the early history of Vedanta in America. It's inspiring to read and full of pictures from that era.
