The Central Theme of the Srimad Bhagavatam

Often honored as being the fifth Veda, the Srimad Bhagavatam hold a special place in the Indian psyche. Its influence upon every aspect of Indian life is unquestionable, and is most evident in art, music, drama, literature and festivals. Spiritual aspirants, especially those following the path of love and devotion (bhakti yoga), consider this book to be supreme, for herein one finds a perfect blend of ecstatic love and firm discernment.

Based on two talks given by Swami Ranganathananda, this little book brings out the real spirit of the Srimad Bhagavatam, which is, according the the swami, that this world has a divine quality and therefore God is to be worshiped not only in temples and images, but also in the hearts of all. The book, thus, is a wonderful introduction to the Srimad Bhagavatam.
